hey ive been noticing a annoying hissing sound coming outta my amp when distortion is on i tried replacing my cord but the problem still is there. my pop says its because of bad grounding. but it makes the same sound both in my room and in my drummers garage.... is this hissing sound normal? its not real bad, but when im not playing you an definty here it. speically when i have the treble up. any help would be rad,

try changing the pickup selector thing.

doesnt help, besides, i prefer the bridge pickup.

not meaning to be degrading, but you probably have cheap pickups or a cheap guitar most pickups that do that are referred to as "noisy" when you hear someone say the pickups were quiet or not noisy, thats what theyre talking about and your dad may be right too

no prob
i found away to reduce the noise, i turn my gain down to about 3 (it was on 10) and turn my guitar vooume to 10, it eens out the distotion and reduces the buzz.

I had the same problem, until i bought a decent guitar. Morale: Buy a new guitar (or just replaces the pickups)
