samick 4 string. Its blue and has twenty frets! yay.
I would be stoked with a fender jazz bass or a fender precision (p) bass. i NEVER see them in shopd here though, only once, when i was just starting out, and i played on it but i was really bad then (i still am but..lol) and i just never see any fenders down here. Anyways., i reckon they are good basses.
Yes, the bass is only as good as the player.

well, isnt twenty normal or is it too few?
al i want is 21 [but 22 is more common i think] so i can play Get a Life by Pennywise on MY bass, instead of having to use the skewl's piece o crap!

24 is best because you get 3 octaves. or 2. which is it?

A simple Ibanez GSR 200 I got for Father's day. I know it's supposed to be low end, but I used to have a much more expensive Samick with active pick ups and I hated that bass! The Ibanez has a great neck, P and J pick ups to fiddle with, and a great balance. If it's a "beginner" bass, I'll stick with that label. I love the thing. If I could have any bass, it'd be a Mockingbird. Played one before and it just rocked.

well the neck is really really thin which makes it nice and fast and i have the action pretty low so really its just amazing to play, but i play mostly metal and rock at home and i play jazz on it aswell it sounds nice with both and cause of the jazz pickup it sounds so warm and nice, cause i usuually blend the two, it only buzzes when its on the jazz pickup and full treble but its a nice bass except the pickguard which is just stuck on with u hu or something
