A good instrument can accelerate the learning curve. I have found that I just want to learn more and play with more passion when my instrument is set up right. Dont get me wrong I wont hack on a bass that is a dog, Ive had my share of them and learned quite a bit on em

they make a cheaper ernie but it sike a squer and its not as good.

I have an old Memphis bass. It works pretty well after I lowered the action, and had my friend sammy tweak the neck.

yes a place called sam ash. its also a catalog. but ita a huge stire and they let you play the instruments. i dont know if you have one near you though.
